winsome wanting
a poem about missing spring
everything sings; a sort of pantheism
that i know by heart because every year she returns /
spring dawns on me and i reciprocate her smile with my own
/ chrysanthemum petals swing side to side
like a dog’s wagging tail at the sight of their owner’s return / and the spring owns me.
i am reborn at the sight of her, chrysalis shaking / like a dog’s tail / as another self awakens / oh!
and the spring— / she is loved by the flowers,
which i know because they celebrate their burgeon under her suns / and it has been many moons since her departure / it’ll forever be her that i contemplate / and i’ll curl
like a fist and hibernate / seasons to pass as spring awaits.

Oh I love the dog's tail metaphor 🐶 such a lovely piece!
ohmygosh this is an amazing poem; the yearn for other seasons is so so real. Such vivid imagery too !!
